HOW THE LAUNCHER WORKS
The app finds your game and uses your selected renderer. Your normal Wizard101 shortcut keeps its original renderer, and your login stays in the official game launcher.
The launcher, Python runtime, DXVK, and—on Mac—MoltenVK. Wizard101 itself is installed separately. No game files or account credentials are bundled.
Vulkan is selected only for launches from this app. On Mac the normal shortcut uses OpenGL; on Windows it uses DirectX. Choose either renderer inside Vulkan Wizard, then click Play.
Yes. Click the FPS indicator: ON/OFF button in the launcher. Your preference is saved. Restart Wizard101 through Vulkan Wizard to apply it. The indicator works with Vulkan and macOS OpenGL. OpenGL uses a small, click-through display above the game window that hides when you switch apps. Windows DirectX does not have an FPS indicator yet.
The Mac app is universal for Apple Silicon and Intel and needs the official Wizard101 Wine app in Applications. Windows needs a 64-bit OS, a DXVK-compatible GPU, and a Vulkan 1.4 driver. The game’s 32-bit or 64-bit DLL is selected automatically. Steam launch flows are not supported yet.
This is an experimental preview. The Mac renderer has been tested with a local game setup. Packaged-app smoke tests run on Mac and Windows; official-server gameplay and native Windows gameplay remain unverified. Performance varies by hardware.
The apps are not publisher signed or Apple notarized yet. On Mac, after trying to open the app, use its Open Anyway option under System Settings → Privacy & Security.
Open the game through Vulkan Wizard again. If another installer has changed a patched DLL, the launcher stops and reports it to avoid overwriting that change.
